Awesome gifts from Korea Taste!
We occasionally post some of our recipes over at KoreaTaste.org.
Korea Taste is a part of the Korea Tourism Organization (affiliated with the Korean government), that introduces food and restaurants in Korea for visitors and others interested in Korean culture.
Well, we were very happy and surprised to learn that we had been awarded third place in their blogging context, winning a prize package – an embroidered mirror and jewelry box set. That was a pleasant surprise, but the pleasant surprise turned to shock when we opened up the package they mailed us.
As you can see above, we were sent a beautifully packaged set, and opening them up, we found that these were items embroidered by a certified Master of traditional Korean embroidery, Okim Chang.
Okim Chang established Kukje Embroidery in Insadong, and as the note describes, has embroidered items for visiting presidents and prime ministers! We’ve been to her beautiful store before when we were in Insdaong. We never thought we would be able to get these beautifulyl embroidered items in our living room! As you can see the hand mirror is lovely, and…
So is this beautiful jewelry box! It was such a nice surprise to get these. Now we have to find where to put them so we can show them off!
Thank you, Korea Taste!

Congrats! They are absolutely gorgeous and couldn’t have a better home
Thanks, Julie! We love them! Best wishes for the new year!
