Test Kitchen! (Urban Vegan’s Upcoming Cookbook)
We’ll be on break for a few weeks, so Sunnie and I thought it might be fun to test out some new vegan recipes. We volunteered to be testers for the Urban Vegan’s new upcoming cookbook. We’ll be testing different recipes over the next several months. Although things just kicked off, it’s been fun to see what other vegan bloggers’ perceptions and suggestions for a given recipe are.
The first recipe is evil incarnate. It’s boughasha (cigar shaped pastries) and uses vegan phyllo dough, a nut blend (we used walnuts and almonds), and a syrup flavored with orange flower or rose water (we went with the orange). It’s so amazingly good, we have been eating them way too fast and have already made a rule that we are never allowed to make them again unless we have a party coming up to share them at as we can’t keep our hands off of them!! 😛
The second dish we picked to test is a Tuscan Bean Dip. It uses cannelini beans, garlic, and parsley to create a zesty dip for veggies or a sandwich spread. We had it with carrot and celery sticks. Filling and very healthy!
